This is a fractal flame generator put out by gandreas software, which also creates a suite of fractal and fractal flame software for the Mac, “quadrium,” hence, the “q” in the title.

This is a complex little app, and I’ve only touched the surface on it so far. Sometimes I get a bit baffled by the technical and scientific aspects of flame generators such as this, but it does have the ability to randomize the parameters and generate flames that way, which is what I’ve been using so far, curating the good ones into galleries.
